PRIVLAKA is a small tourist place, seven centuries old. It is well known for fishing and getting sand material from the sea. It is situated on a peninsula, and its old center is overlooking the island Vir. The tourist area of the commune Privlaka is an oasis of shallow long-stretching sandy lagoons, aside of direct traffic, and far from any industrial zone or big highways. The shallow sea in the enclosed bay has higher temperature for about 2-3 degrees than in the open sea, which creates greater salinity and aerosol. Next to Privlaka, there is a weekend settlement Sabunike famous after its long-stretching sandy beaches. Only one kilometer away you'll find Croatia's oldest royal city - NIN (dating from the 9 th century). The most outstanding monument, unique in its architectonic style, is a small Old-Croatian church of St. Cross from the 9th century, called , representing a gem among the cultural monuments of its kind one can see. In Nin there is the largest known deposit of therapeutic peloid on the Adriatic coast. The experts of the medical faculty at Vienna and Zagreb analized the physical-chemical properties of this therapeutic peloid, so that based on the excellent results a little outpatient clinic was built there, and an open air rehabilitation is performed during sommer months.

Famous Holiday village ZATON is 3 km away. If you want to visit the biggest disco on the Adriatic you'll find Saturnus disco that offers programs and appearances by well-known DJs. For the more active in Zaton there is a rich variety of different sport activites: from water skiing to windsurfing. Privlaka is situated in the Zadar region which includes 5 national parks ant 3 Nature Parks for which there are organized full-day and half-day guided: bus tours to the national parks of Plitvice Lakes, Krka Waterfalls and Paklenica; boat tours to the Kornat Islands, Telasčica Nature Park (fish picnics). It is a member of the Walled towns friendship circle (WTFC), situated within ancient walls with a Roman fora from the 1st c. and the St. Donat-church from the 9th c. - a unique monument of the early bizantin architecture in Europe.The Cathedral of St. Anastasia (Stosija) is the biggest one in Dalmatia. Zadar is wide-konown after its Musical evenings in St. Donat-church.
