Milna on Brac

Milna is situated at the end of a spacious bay, from the old times the place of fishermen seamen, growers of grapes, olives, almonds. Milna seems untouched in time, except occasional chimes of church bells that want to break the silence of centuries.

You are invited to refresh long forgotten feelings. Near Milna there are Bobovisca and Lozisce on the Sea, the charming villages of good wine, olive oil, fruit and clear sea.
Here, at the west side of the island of Brac, guests are welcome to enjoy the cordiality of people of these places. Milna developed at the beginning of the 17th century.

The parish church Our Lady of the Annunciation from 1783 has a monumental Baroque front and a cycle of stuccoes (Rococo) from the early 19th century. The late Baroque altarpiece The Annunciation is a work by Sebastian Ricci. Apart from the sculptures of Sts. Joseph and Jerome in the parish, Ivan Rendic has made a tombstone of Stjepan Tomas with Secession and folklore motifs. In the cove of Osibova are the ruins of a small Gothic church. - During the Napoleonic wars, the Russian fleet had its base in Milna (1800).
