Zavala

Zavala is a small place on the south side of Hvar - island with most sunny days per year in Croatia. It is famous because of its untouched nature and beautiful gravel beaches. Also, its white wines are among most preferred on Hvar.

Below the village, there is a string of beautiful beaches lapped by a crystal clear sea. In Zavala you can find a couple of restaurants and a small local shop, and in neighboring Jelsa, just 13 km from there, you can find necessary provisions and all public services. Zavala and its surroundings are favorite excursion points for visitors of Hvar island. Small villages with preserved traditional houses are especially interesting.
