Preko

Preko is a lovely village across Zadar, situated on the island Ugljan. It is not exact to call it a village any more because with time it turned in close and convenient city suburb.
The fact that Preko is on island gives it more tranquil, peaceful and quiet flavor. Nature is beautiful and two small islet in front of Preko are beautiful places to visit and look at. On one of them there is a Franciscan cloister and the other one is an excellent choice for a short trip and/or swim. Preko is situated in the central part of the island of Ugljan only half an hour by ferry from Zadar. Its name in croatian means "opposite" (preko = opposite, on the other side).
