On the road from Sibenik to Vodice, on the coast of the Adriatic Sea, stretches place Srima. This picturesque little tourist town is connected with Vodice town at its north-west side.
Besides few ancient stone houses, in Srima there are modern villas and numerous newly built homes. Many are still being built. According to historical sources, Srima still existed in the Middle Ages, when the inhabitants, threatned by Turks fled to a nearby island and formed a village Prvić Šepurine. Cessation and risk end in the 17th century and people gradually began to return and stay in Srima. The last twenty years of rapid development of tourism helped growth of Srima population. It is especially known by its sandy beaches and the peace that reigns in this beautiful little Dalmatian place. Although Srima is recently intensively developed, the place reaches far into the past - witness the archaeological finds at the site Srimska pool that show the existence of an early Christian basilica from the 6th century.
